2nd Grade Teacher & Special Education
Kari Monnens graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. Upon graduation, Kari went to Costa Rica to receive her certification to teach English as a Foreign Language and gain new experiences and perspectives. Upon her travel experience, Kari became a substitute teacher within surrounding districts last spring. Kari also has a strong passion for health, fitness and volleyball. She has completed a variety of races and has coached volleyball over the last 6 years. Kari is excited to begin her first year teaching at FIT Academy. She loves the mission of the school and also strongly believes that physical activity enhances learning. From this, the emphasis and value FIT Academy has on physical activity and a solution to implement fitness throughout the school day highly excites me as an educator. Kari is also excited to implement her knowledge learned on co-teaching within the second grade classroom and see the growth of her students. In her free time, Kari enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to be active, coach volleyball and serve others.
